BREAKING: New NC State basketball staff strikes again, pulls top talented player out of transfer portal

A standout three-star recruit in the 2024 class made history as Millbrook High School’s all-time leading scorer in Raleigh, N.C., before starting his college career with the Butler Bulldogs. Now, the 6-foot-7, 205-pound wing is returning home to play for the NC State basketball team.

“I’m home,” Langdon captioned the following Instagram post on Thursday night in advertising his commitment to first-year NC State basketball head coach Will Wade and the Wolfpack.

Colt Langdon reclassified to join Butler a year early, but ultimately redshirted last season after not appearing in any games for the Bulldogs. Now, the versatile scorer is heading to NC State, committing to the Wolfpack just a week after entering the transfer portal—and he still has all four years of eligibility left.

Langdon becomes the fourth transfer to commit to NC State this offseason. He joins a group that includes two former McNeese State guards who played under Will Wade—Quadir Copeland and Alyn Breed—as well as ex-Michigan State guard Tre Holloman.
