As the Brahmas look to bounce back, they’ve added two key players to the roster: running back Aidan Robbins and edge rusher Nelson Ceaser. These additions aim to provide much-needed depth on both offense and defense. Meanwhile, wide receiver Racey McMath has been placed on injured reserve after suffering a serious leg injury during last week’s game against Michigan.
RB Aidan Robbins
Injuries in the backfield have prompted San Antonio to bring in Aidan Robbins. According to Payton Pardee, Robbins’ signing was largely due to availability issues, as the team’s running back group has struggled with consistency and health.
Robbins started his college career at Louisville, where he saw limited playing time over three years. A transfer to UNLV in 2022 turned things around — he rushed for 1,011 yards and nine touchdowns in 11 starts. He later moved to BYU for his final season, where he recorded 485 rushing yards and one touchdown in eight games (seven starts). Robbins also had a short preseason stint with the Cleveland Browns in 2024, tallying 61 yards on 19 carries. Now, he’s looking to jumpstart his professional journey with the Brahmas in the UFL.
EDGE Nelson Ceaser
On the defensive side, Nelson Ceaser is stepping in to replace Rashod Berry, who was released earlier in the week. Ceaser brings explosive potential off the edge — something this defense has been lacking.
Ceaser played his entire college career at Houston, accumulating 103 tackles, 18.5 sacks, and an interception. In his final season alone, he notched 28 tackles and 9.5 sacks. His college performance earned him a shot with the Seattle Seahawks during the 2024 NFL preseason, where he registered three tackles in three games.
Ceaser was also part of the DC Defenders’ UFL Training Camp and stood out, but a crowded depth chart meant he didn’t make the final roster. Now with San Antonio, he’ll work under DC Will Reed in hopes of energizing a defense that needs to turn things around fast. GM Marc Lillibridge seems to have made a strong addition here.
Injury Update
Unfortunately, WR Racey McMath has landed on IR following a leg injury sustained on special teams during the Michigan game. Though his offensive contributions were minimal (one catch for eight yards), he was a major asset on special teams, earning an 82.8 PFF grade and notching four tackles.
San Antonio faces a tough matchup this week as they travel to face the DC Defenders.
