BREAKING: St. Louis Battlehawks Announce Major Roster Addition

The Quarterback  has signed with the St. Louis Battlehawks, as reported on Tuesday by James Larsen of Pro Football Newsroom.

A seasoned spring football player, Silvers previously helped lead the Houston Roughnecks to a postseason berth in the 2023 XFL season. In 2024, he was the third-string quarterback for the Battlehawks behind A.J. McCarron. With Manny Wilkins recently placed on injured reserve, Silvers is returning to the roster.

Silvers, a 6’3”, 219-pound quarterback from Pensacola, Florida, first joined the Battlehawks on February 14, 2024. Now 30 years old, he brings experience from several spring leagues.

He participated in a rookie minicamp with the New Orleans Saints in 2018, then played in the AAF for the Memphis Express in 2019, throwing for 799 yards and four touchdowns across five games. He later signed with the New York Jets.

In 2020, he joined the XFL’s Seattle Dragons, passing for 539 yards and six touchdowns over four games before the season was halted due to the pandemic.

Silvers also played for The Spring League’s Conquerors in 2021, leading them to the championship game with 685 passing yards and nine touchdowns in six appearances. Though he initially signed a USFL contract, he was not selected in the draft.

He landed with the Houston Roughnecks in November 2022 and played eight games during the 2023 season, recording 1,551 passing yards, 13 touchdowns, and nine interceptions.

In college, Silvers had a standout career at Troy University (2014–17), throwing for nearly 11,000 yards and 69 touchdowns. He earned First Team All-Sun Belt honors in 2016.
