The Duke Blue Devils took to social media to express their gratitude to Cooper Flagg following his announcement to enter the 2025 NBA Draft.
The 18-year-old standout from Maine, who stands 6-foot-9, has quickly become one of basketball’s brightest young talents. In his impressive season, Flagg posted averages of 19.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game. He played a pivotal role in leading Duke to the Final Four and made history by becoming the first player since 1986 to lead his team in all major statistical categories during a Final Four game, although the Blue Devils ultimately fell short of a championship.
Flagg’s departure marks the end of a notable chapter for Duke. With speculation swirling all season about whether he would return for a second year or take his talents to the professional level, the ACC Player of the Year has officially chosen to declare for the NBA.

Duke’s men’s basketball program responded with a heartfelt message of their own on social media, honoring Flagg and declaring him “Duke forever.”
“League next. Duke forever. Thank you, @Cooper_Flagg‼️💙💙😈,” the team posted.
Fans flooded the comments with support, sending Flagg well wishes as he prepares to begin his professional career.
The 2025 NBA Draft is set for June 25 at the Barclays Center, and Flagg is widely projected to be the number one overall pick—further solidifying his status as one of the sport’s top prospects.
