Ole Miss football added experience to its running back room through the transfer portal ahead of next season.
The Rebels picked up veteran Troy running back Damien Taylor on April 20. Standing 5-foot-10 and weighing 221 pounds, Taylor will join Ole Miss as a redshirt senior. A native of Northport, Alabama, he spent the past four years at Troy.
Taylor is coming off a standout season in which he rushed for 1,010 yards and seven touchdowns, earning a spot on the All-Sun Belt second team. He topped 100 yards in four games, including a dominant 190-yard performance against Coastal Carolina.

Known for his explosive playmaking, Taylor recorded 11 runs of 20-plus yards last season—ranking 18th nationally—and had runs of 40-plus yards in three different games.
With running back depth still a question mark for head coach Lane Kiffin going into 2025, Taylor is expected to compete alongside a promising but relatively untested group that includes Logan Diggs, Missouri transfer Kewan Lacy, and freshman Shekai Mills-Knight.
