HUGE BLOW: Oregon State abruptly lose potential star to the transfer portal

Standing at 6 feet tall and weighing 182 pounds, the quarterback played in 10 games for Oregon State in 2024 as a redshirt junior. He completed 123 of 202 passes for 1,300 yards, throwing three touchdowns and six interceptions. On the ground, he added 328 rushing yards and five touchdowns on 59 carries.

Before joining Oregon State for the 2024 season, McCoy transferred from Idaho, where he played from 2021 to 2023. He was a finalist for the 2023 Walter Payton Award, which honors the top offensive player in the FCS

While at Idaho, McCoy threw for 2,919 yards and 15 touchdowns in 2023, 2,735 yards and 27 touchdowns in 2022, and 205 yards with one touchdown in 2021. He also had a 14-yard reception in 2022.

A native of Lakewood, California, McCoy attended Lakewood High School and has amassed 7,159 career passing yards.

The NCAA transfer portal opened on Wednesday and will close on April 25.
