Steve Sarkisian and the Texas Longhorns land major commitment for top decorated player

Steve Sarkisian and the Texas Longhorns are preparing for another push toward the College Football Playoff as the 2025 season approaches.

Texas boasts the top-ranked 2025 recruiting class, and on top of that, the team is bolstering its roster with standout players from the transfer portal.

The Longhorns secured a major addition with the commitment of  the highest-rated wide receiver currently in the portal.

Mosley, who began his college career at Stanford, recorded 48 receptions for 525 yards and six touchdowns during his freshman season. The 6-foot-2, 205-pound receiver will join Texas with three years of eligibility remaining.

Originally a three-star recruit in the 2024 class, Mosley hails from Rancho Santa Margarita, California. He played in nine games and started eight for Stanford as a freshman before entering the transfer portal on April 3, following the dismissal of head coach Troy Taylor.

Mosley is expected to help fill the gap left by wideouts Matthew Golden and Isaiah Bond, both of whom declared for the 2025 NFL Draft. He’s projected to be a key target for Arch Manning, who is set to begin his first season as Texas’ full-time starting quarterback.

Texas wrapped up its inaugural SEC season with an impressive 13-3 record, but the 2024 campaign ended on a sour note with a Cotton Bowl loss to eventual national champions, the Ohio State Buckeyes.

The Longhorns won’t have to wait long for a shot at redemption — they’ll open their 2025 season with a much-anticipated rematch against Ohio State on August 30.
