The Memphis Grizzlies were facing a significant challenge heading into the play-in tournament.
Their potential opponents were either a strong LA Clippers squad that had swept them during the season or the Golden State Warriors, who had beaten them in three out of four regular-season matchups. As Sunday’s games wrapped up, it was confirmed that the Grizzlies would be going up against the Warriors on Tuesday night.
While Memphis will benefit from extra rest compared to Golden State, they’ll be taking on a highly driven Warriors team.

Following their loss to the Clippers, Jimmy Butler delivered a clear and simple message about the upcoming matchup:
“Don’t lose,” Butler said. “That’s all I’m thinking — don’t lose.”
Despite the defeat, Butler expressed confidence in the Warriors’ position.
“I feel great,” he said. “We’re in a good spot. We still have a chance, and it’s in our hands. We’ll be just fine.”
Late in the game against the Clippers, Butler took an accidental knee to the thigh from Kawhi Leonard and was noticeably limping afterward. Although he assured reporters he was okay, it’s still unclear how the injury might affect him when they face Memphis.
