Angeles Dodger Receives Unfortunate News: Freddie Freeman’s Injury Update
The Los Angeles Dodgers have received unfortunate news regarding star first baseman Freddie Freeman. Freeman was scratched from the lineup due to left rib discomfort and has been dealing with an ankle injury that required offseason surgery.
Freeman played through broken costal cartilage in his sixth rib during the 2024 playoffs and underwent offseason surgery to remove a bone spur from his ankle. He recently slipped in the shower, aggravating his surgically repaired right ankle and causing a “flare” in pain. Freeman is expected to return to the lineup on Friday, missing around nine games due to the ankle issue.

Freeman’s absence has forced the Dodgers to adjust their lineup, with Enrique Hernández filling in at first base. However, Hernández has struggled at the plate, hitting only .111 with four home runs. Freeman’s return is expected to boost the team’s performance, especially with their recent struggles, including a three-game losing streak.
The Dodgers have had some notable successes, including a record-breaking 8-0 start to the season, Dustin May’s return from injury, and the acquisition of base-stealer Esteury Ruiz from the A’s.
