Hubert Davis and the North Carolina Tar Heels have taken another step in shaping their 2025–26 roster.
Following the departure of Elliot Cadeau to the transfer portal, UNC was in serious need of a point guard to lead their offense. They explored several options, and now, they’ve landed their guy.
Colorado State point guard announced his commitment to the Tar Heels. The Kansas City, Missouri native chose UNC despite interest from multiple other programs.

Evans had a breakout season with the Rams, earning Honorable Mention All-Mountain West honors. He played a key role in helping Colorado State win the Mountain West Tournament and notch a victory in the NCAA Tournament, averaging 10.6 points and 3.1 assists per game.
Landing Evans is a major win for the Tar Heels—not just because of his playmaking skills, but also due to his sharpshooting from beyond the arc. He ranked 24th in the nation in three-point percentage last season, hitting an impressive 44.6% from deep—an area where UNC struggled as a team.
His addition marks the third transfer portal pickup for North Carolina this offseason, joining forward Jonathan Powell and center Henri Veesaar, who both committed earlier.
