Nebraska Cornhuskers receive big news regarding Jamarques Lawrence

After a year at Rhode Island, former Husker  is returning to Lincoln.

There’s no place like home.

Former Nebraska player has revealed that he will be returning to Nebraska men’s basketball after spending a year at Rhode Island. He shared the news on his Instagram account.

Lawrence played his first two seasons of college basketball at Nebraska, participating in 62 games. During his sophomore year, he averaged 6.9 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game.

However, the New Jersey native chose to enter the transfer portal after the program’s first NCAA Tournament appearance in a decade. In his only season at Rhode Island, Lawrence served as a team captain and started all 31 games, averaging 9.9 points and 2.5 assists per game.

Lawrence will join incoming transfers Pryce Sandfort from Iowa and Ugnius Jarusevicius from Central Michigan as part of the Big Red’s roster.
