Another four-star recruit is set to join the Colorado State men’s basketball team.
Guard Butler is expected to transfer to the Rams from Washington, with his move first reported by 247Sports and ESPN.
Standing at 6-foot-4, Butler played in 18 games off the bench for Washington during the 2024-25 season as a freshman, averaging 1.9 points per game, with a high of eight points in a game against Nevada.

Butler was a four-star recruit from The Branson School in San Francisco and ranked among ESPN’s top-100 recruits. Colorado State had been one of the teams interested in Butler before he chose Washington. The left-handed player was named Bay Area Player of the Year in his senior year.
Known as a versatile guard, Butler is capable of scoring from all three levels and creating opportunities for his teammates.
