A major criticism from UNC basketball fans last offseason was the team’s failure to make significant additions in the post, particularly in addressing the gap left by Armando Bacot’s graduation.
Head coach Hubert Davis and his staff made several efforts to recruit top-tier transfer big men, but after a series of misses, they shifted their focus and brought Ven-Allen Lubin to Chapel Hill as their only addition in the post through the transfer portal.
Lubin had a solid first season with the Tar Heels, particularly as the season progressed. Still, many fans felt that UNC needed more size in the post.
It looks like the Tar Heels may be on the verge of addressing that need for next season, as they hosted an official visit from Arizona transfer big man.

The 7-foot Veesaar entered the transfer portal shortly after his team’s season-ending Sweet 16 loss to UNC basketball rival Duke last weekend.
As a sophomore with the Wildcats, Veesaar averaged 9.4 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks per game, mostly coming off the bench. Standing at 7 feet tall and weighing 205 pounds, the Estonian center could add valuable size in the post, potentially forming a strong inside tandem with Lubin for the 2025-26 Tar Heels.
