BREAKING NEWS: South Carolina football Land two Huge Commitment At Major Positions

Fans of the South Carolina Gamecocks will be excited about the recent recruitment progress, as offensive tackle Zyon Guiles has committed for the 2026 class. He joins Anthony Baxter, Keenan Britt, Jamel Howse, J’Zavien Currence, and Peyton Dyer in pledging to the University of South Carolina’s NCAA team.

This puts the Gamecocks in a strong position compared to teams like the Texas Longhorns, who have only announced commitments from Dia Bell, Chris Stewart, and Max Wright. Longhorns fans may be holding off on Texas sports betting markets until more announcements are made, but once they are, fans will likely take advantage of the attractive odds, generous bonuses, and quick payouts offered by betting sites.

Guiles, a 6ft 3″, 335 lb offensive tackle from South Pointe, is considered one of the top prospects in the state. He chose South Carolina over offers from Charlotte, Appalachian State, East Carolina, Duke, Kentucky, and Virginia Tech.

Linebacker Keenan Britt from Oxford, Alabama, has also committed to the Gamecocks, though he continues to receive offers from West Virginia, Oregon, Tennessee, Florida, and Arkansas.

In an exciting period for the Gamecocks, tight end Jamel Howse also committed to the team. The 6ft 4″ junior from Newberry High School is ranked as the No. 2 prospect in the state for the 2026 class and is another four-star recruit.

Defensive back J’Zavien Currence from South Pointe has also committed for the 2026 class. He’ll join teammate Anthony Baxter in making the move to Columbia and recently stood out at the Adidas All-American game.

Peyton Dyer, a talented cornerback, committed to South Carolina in November but continues to attract attention from other programs, including Georgia. Despite this, the Gamecocks are working hard to retain Dyer and demonstrate why they are the best fit for him.

While there are already some solid commitments, recruitment efforts remain strong, with offensive lineman Darius Gray being a key target. Coach Shane Beamer has emphasized Gray’s importance and is dedicating significant time and resources to his recruitment. Gray has enjoyed his visits to South Carolina and is scheduled for an official visit on June 20th. Although other schools are showing interest, the Gamecocks remain the favorites to land him.
