One of the first players linked to North Carolina in the transfer portal was former Nevada forward who entered a few weeks ago. The Tar Heels reached out to Davidson immediately, but they weren’t the only team interested, as he had multiple programs pursuing him.
On Sunday, Davidson made a significant update to his recruitment by narrowing his options to five schools: Virginia, Washington, Texas, Notre Dame, and Clemson. This is a tough blow for the Tar Heels, who are in need of wing depth for the upcoming season.
The 6-foot-10 junior was considered one of the top wing players in the portal and appeared to be a good fit for North Carolina. He averaged 15.8 points and 6.5 rebounds per game last season at Nevada.

With the Tar Heels losing key players from last season and now having two players in the transfer portal, they need to find a way to improve the roster.
Missing out on targets won’t help.
The good news is that there are still a lot of targets left for the Tar Heels and they even hosted a guard on Saturday out of the transfer portal. There is plenty of time left in the offseason but as more targets move on, UNC is going to need to make a strong impression and find a way to land talent.
