In the near future, new West Virginia head coach Ross Hodge plans to contact players with remaining eligibility to gauge their interest in returning to the team.
Freshman guard told West Virginia On SI that he is “open to returning” to WVU, though he will also consider other options. Tenner entered the transfer portal earlier this week and intends to meet with Hodge to explore the possibility of continuing his career at WVU.
During his first year, Tenner saw limited playing time in 30 games, mostly stepping in for Javon Small in brief moments when Small needed rest. He averaged 13 minutes per game, contributing 2.4 points, 1.1 assists, and shooting 35% from the field, but struggled with a 15% shooting rate from beyond the arc.

In his senior year at Cordova High School in Memphis, Tennessee, Tenner posted impressive stats, averaging 21.2 points, 4.3 assists, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.5 steals per game. He chose WVU over offers from schools such as Arkansas State, Bradley, Central Michigan, Murray State, North Alabama, and Texas State.
Tenner still has three years of eligibility left.
