BREAKING: USD Coyotes Suffer Player Departure, Star Guard Transfers to Rival Program
The University of South Dakota Coyotes men’s basketball team has been dealt a significant blow with the sudden departure of star guard, *Stanley Umude*. Umude, a 6’6″ junior, has announced that he will be transferring to the University of Arkansas, leaving a gaping hole in the Coyotes’ lineup.

Umude, a two-time All-Summit League selection, was a key contributor to the Coyotes’ success, averaging 21.5 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game last season. His departure is a significant loss for the program, which was counting on him to lead the team in the upcoming season.
“We’re disappointed to see Stanley go, but we understand his decision and wish him the best of luck at Arkansas,” said USD head coach Todd Lee. “We’ll have to regroup and find ways to fill the void left by his departure.”
The Coyotes will now have to scramble to find a replacement for Umude’s scoring and playmaking abilities. The team is expected to look to its existing roster, as well as the transfer market, to find a suitable replacement.
Umude’s transfer to Arkansas is a significant coup for the Razorbacks, who are looking to bolster their roster after a disappointing season. Umude is expected to be an immediate impact player for Arkansas, which is looking to compete for a conference title in the upcoming season.
The USD Coyotes will now have to regroup and refocus their efforts as they look to build on last season’s success. With Umude’s departure, the team will have to find new leaders and playmakers if they hope to compete in the highly competitive Summit League.
