One of Georgia Tech’s standout basketball players will be moving on next season. The point guard is reportedly set to enter the transfer portal next week, according to ESPN. The 6-foot-3, 185-pound Canadian averaged 12.3 points, 4.2 rebounds, and led the team with 221 assists in the 2024-25 season, which also topped the ACC. He earned All-ACC honorable mention honors and showed consistent improvement in all areas during his time at Georgia Tech. George registered 22 games with double-digit points, including a career-high 28 points in a triple-overtime win over Clemson on February 4.
As the most seasoned player on the team, he leaves Atlanta with significant experience, leaving a gap for the Yellow Jackets heading into next season. Head coach Damon Stoudamire spoke highly of him before the season, noting George’s shooting and passing abilities and his potential in the program. Expect George to be a highly sought-after player in the upcoming transfer portal cycle, as his best years are likely still ahead of him, backed by strong game footage. The key question now will be how Stoudamire plans to fill the void left by George’s departure. George has two years of eligibility remaining and could choose to return to Georgia Tech if he decides to withdraw from the portal.
