Breaking:Las Vegas Raiders confirms Big News

Raiders Acquire Quarterback Geno Smith from Seattle Seahawks

The Las Vegas Raiders have made a significant move to bolster their quarterback position, acquiring Geno Smith from the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for a third-round selection in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Smith, a 10-year veteran, joins the Raiders after spending the past two seasons with the Seahawks. During his time in Seattle, Smith led the team to a 9-8 record in 2022 and threw for 4,282 yards and 30 touchdowns.

The acquisition of Smith addresses a major need for the Raiders, who were looking to add experience and leadership to their quarterback room. With Smith on board, the Raiders now have a proven veteran who can provide stability and guidance to the team’s young quarterbacks.

“Geno is a talented quarterback who brings a high level of experience and leadership to our team,” said Raiders General Manager Dave Ziegler. “We’re excited to add him to our roster and look forward to seeing him compete.”

Smith is expected to compete with incumbent quarterback Aidan O’Connell for the starting job, and his presence should provide a boost to the Raiders’ offense.

The trade is a significant move for the Raiders, who are looking to rebound from a disappointing 2023 season. With Smith on board, the team is hoping to make a push for the playoffs in 2025.
