The Tennessee Titans require significant offensive improvements this offseason, and addressing the quarterback position is just the beginning. Apart from Calvin Ridley, the Titans lack reliable options at wide receiver, and they lost emerging talent Nick Westbrook-Ikhine to free agency.
Bleacher Report’s Moe Moton has suggested a trade scenario where the Titans acquire talented WR from the Pittsburgh Steelers in a major deal. In exchange, Tennessee would send a couple of Day 3 draft picks to Pittsburgh.
“If the Titans plan to take Cam Ward with the No. 1 pick, they can get him some help before the draft,” Moton wrote. “Tennessee can acquire Pickens, who would pair with Calvin Ridley for a solid receiver tandem. The Titans could stress defenses by pushing the ball downfield to two receivers who averaged more than 15 yards per catch last season.”

While acquiring Pickens would be a great move for the Titans, it’s uncertain whether the Steelers would even entertain trading him right now.
Pittsburgh just acquired D.K. Metcalf to pair with Pickens, so trading the latter seems unlikely at this point. While Pickens’ contract expires after 2025 and his history in Pittsburgh has had some ups and downs, especially after the Steelers signed Metcalf to a massive five-year, $150 million extension, it’s not clear he would want to re-sign with Pittsburgh.
However, the Steelers are aiming for a Super Bowl run next season, and breaking up their promising wide receiver duo would be counterproductive to that goal.
In 2024, Pickens posted 59 catches for 900 yards and three touchdowns, averaging 16.3 yards per reception throughout his career. He would be a great addition for the Titans, but this trade just doesn’t seem very likely.
