Commanders strike again, bolster squad depth with physically gifted player

The Washington Commanders have signed former Pittsburgh Steelers offensive tackle Trent Scott, the team announced. This marks his third season with the Commanders, who initially brought him on board in 2023.

A  seasoned NFL player, he entered the league in 2018 as an undrafted free agent from Grambling State. He spent his first two seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers before moving to the Carolina Panthers. After two years with the Panthers, Scott was signed by the Steelers, where he impressed during training camp, gradually moving up the depth chart. He joined the active roster on September 1 and remained there for the entire season.

After one year with Pittsburgh, Scott moved to the Commanders. In 2024, he even caught a one-yard touchdown pass as a tackle-eligible player in a game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

The new deal is for one year and will provide the Commanders with experienced depth on the offensive line. Scott has started 23 games and played in 88 NFL games throughout his career.
