Washington Huskies strike again, lands commitment for two physically gifted players

In the days after Washington’s action-packed Junior Day recruiting event, the Husky staff secured commitments from two recruits in the class of 2026. The Cornerbacks both pledged to Washington, bringing the total number of commits to six as the team approaches Spring practice.

Washington’s 2026 Recruiting Taking Shape

The day after Washington’s recruiting event, Jiles took to social media to announce his commitment to the Huskies. He was among about 40 recruits who visited the campus during the weekend of March 8th. Before Junior Day, Jiles had previously visited Washington for the UCLA game last November. In January, during the recruiting contact period, Jedd Fisch and four other members of the Husky coaching staff visited Jiles at his high school. Fisch extended an offer to the California native in February 2024, while Jiles was still committed to Miami, FL. Just two days after receiving the offer, Jiles de-committed from the Hurricanes and reopened his recruitment. He has now committed to the Huskies.

Originally from Southern California, Jiles now plays at IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL, one of the nation’s premier high school football programs. Standing at 6’-0”, Jiles is a physical cornerback with excellent anticipation in the secondary. He quickly identifies underneath routes or run plays, allowing him to crash down on the formation and make a play. His physicality gives him the versatility to play either slot cornerback or outside corner. A three-star recruit, Jiles ranks inside the top 75 nationally at his position and is one of two cornerback commits for Washington.

The other cornerback commit is Durr, who was also on campus during Washington’s early March recruiting weekend. Two days after the event, he announced his commitment to the Huskies on social media. Durr is a three-star recruit from Mount Tahoma High School in Tacoma, Washington, and is ranked as the seventh-best player in the state by 247Sports. Nationally, he’s ranked inside the top 70 at his position. Washington extended an offer to Durr last June, joining other schools such as Cal, Michigan State, Wisconsin, and Arizona in pursuing him.

A two-way player in high school, Durr lines up at both wide receiver and cornerback. Last fall, as a junior at Mount Tahoma, he broke up five passes, recorded three interceptions, and recovered two fumbles as a cornerback. On offense, he caught eight touchdowns and totaled 445 yards on 26 receptions. At 6’-1”, Durr is a versatile player and currently the third-highest rated recruit in Washington’s 2026 class, as well as the third in-state commit.
