“Georgia Bulldogs Steal Star Recruit from Rival in Shocking Commitment Decision
The Georgia Bulldogs have once again asserted their dominance over in-state rival Georgia Tech, not only on the football field but also in the recruiting arena. The Bulldogs haven’t lost a game to the Yellow Jackets since 2016, and now they’ve secured another key victory—this time by landing a highly sought-after wide receiver.
On March 15, On3’s Jake Reuse reported that four-star wide receiver Brady Marchese, a standout from Cartersville, Georgia, has given his verbal commitment to the University of Georgia. The talented playmaker had been a top target for multiple programs, including Georgia Tech, but ultimately, the Bulldogs won out in the recruiting battle.

Marchese expressed his excitement and disbelief upon receiving the offer and making his commitment. “It was kind of unbelievable, I couldn’t really believe it,” he told On3. “It meant a lot to me being a Georgia boy and having that happen to me meant a lot… It’s Georgia, they’ll always sit pretty high in my recruitment. I want to get up there and see what it’s about and get into it a little more than what I know about it already.”
Growing up in Georgia, Marchese has long been familiar with the Bulldogs’ tradition and success. His commitment only strengthens Georgia’s impressive recruiting class, as the program continues to attract top-tier talent from within the state and across the country. The Bulldogs have built a reputation for developing elite wide receivers, and Marchese’s decision to join the program highlights the trust recruits have in Georgia’s ability to prepare them for success at the collegiate level and beyond.
While Marchese has only given a verbal commitment at this stage, his excitement about joining the Bulldogs suggests that Georgia remains the frontrunner to secure his signature when it’s time to make things official. With his blend of speed, athleticism, and playmaking ability, Marchese could be a key addition to Georgia’s receiving corps in the years to come.
For Georgia Tech, losing a talented in-state recruit to their archrival is a tough blow. The Yellow Jackets have been working hard to close the gap between themselves and Georgia, particularly in recruiting, but this latest development serves as a reminder of the Bulldogs’ stronghold in the state.
As the recruiting process continues, Marchese will likely take visits and learn more about the program, but for now, Georgia has won yet another battle—both on the field and in the recruiting landscape.
