Cincinnati Reds Suffers Devastating Loss

Reds Bullpen Collapses Again in Brutal 8-3 Loss

The Cincinnati Reds continued to struggle with their bullpen as they fell 8-3 to the Seattle Mariners on Sunday evening. Despite a solid start from Brady Singer, who allowed just one run and struck out five over his four-plus innings, the Reds’ offense couldn’t generate much momentum. The bullpen faltered late, surrendering seven runs over the final four innings.

Cincinnati struck first in the second inning when Gavin Lux doubled, stole third, and then raced home after an errant throw got past the third baseman.

Singer dominated early, holding the Mariners scoreless through four innings. However, his outing ended in the fifth when Dominic Canzone led off with a solo home run. After a lineout, Singer allowed a single and a walk before being pulled at 78 pitches. Reliever Sam Benschoter entered and managed to escape the inning without further damage, keeping the game tied at 1-1.

Seattle took the lead in the sixth against Taylor Rogers, who gave up three singles that resulted in a run. The Mariners then added two more in the seventh off Ian Gibaut, who struggled with command, issuing two walks and allowing two singles as the deficit grew to 4-1.

In the eighth, Joe La Sorsa worked around two baserunners to keep the Reds within striking distance. However, things unraveled in the ninth when Bryan Shaw took the mound. He immediately gave up a solo homer to Rowdy Tellez, then allowed four more hits and hit a batter, leading to a four-run inning that put Seattle ahead 8-1.

Cincinnati managed to push across two runs in the bottom of the ninth, but the rally fell far short, sealing another tough loss for the Reds.
