HUGE BLOW: REDSKINS Part-ways with Gifted top-notch starting safety

The Washington Commanders are actively working on building their 2025 roster as the NFL’s open negotiation period begins, and part of that process involves losing some players.

While the Commanders were busy adding defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw from the New York Jets (via the San Francisco 49ers), they also saw another member of their defense depart.

On the first day of open negotiations, former Washington safety Jeremy Chinn reached an agreement with the Las Vegas Raiders, as reported by NFL.com’s Mike Garafolo.

The contract is reportedly worth $16 million over the next two seasons, which is considered a fair deal for Chinn, who had a strong season with the Commanders’ defense.

In his one season with Washington, Chinn ranked second on the team in tackles with 117, also recording two sacks, three quarterback hits, and seven tackles for loss. His tackle total tied his career high, which he set during his rookie season in 2020 with the Carolina Panthers.
