On March 7, the Buffalo Sabres made a significant trade, sending Dylan Cozens, Dennis Gilbert, and a 2026 second-round pick to the Ottawa Senators in exchange for Josh Norris and Jacob Bernard-Docker.

It was widely known that the Sabres were aiming to shake up their roster, and this move certainly delivers. Norris is expected to play a crucial role in the Sabres’ top six, while Bernard-Docker will hope to elevate his game in a fresh environment.
Now that the trade is finalized, the Sabres have confirmed the jersey numbers for the new players.
With Zach Benson already wearing No. 9, Norris will switch to No. 13, last worn by Rochester Americans forward Lukas Rousek. Norris also becomes the 10th player in Sabres history to wear the number.
Bernard-Docker will retain his No. 24, which was Cozens’ number before the trade. Notably, No. 24 is a popular number in Sabres history, and Bernard-Docker will be the 27th player to wear it.
