The Minnesota Vikings have signed a two-year, $20 million contract with an experienced player, which includes $13 million in guaranteed money, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Sunday.
Although there were rumors that he might join another team, the Vikings made it a priority to retain the star running back.
He is coming off his first season with Minnesota, which turned out to be one of the best years of his career. He finished with 255 carries for 1,138 yards and five touchdowns. Additionally, he caught 51 passes for 408 yards and two touchdowns.

Jones played a dominant role in the Vikings’ running game, with Cam Akers finishing a distant second with just 297 rushing yards.
Vikings fans are eagerly awaiting the team’s decision on who will be their starting quarterback for the 2025 season. Sam Darnold, who guided the team to a 14–3 record, is set to become a free agent this week unless a deal is finalized. If a contract isn’t reached with Darnold, the Vikings will turn to J.J. McCarthy, who is waiting for his official NFL debut after missing the entire season due to a knee injury.
