MAJOR BREAKING: Ravens shake up AFC power balance: Chiefs and Bills on high alert after major signing

The Baltimore Ravens have just sent a strong message to the Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills—this team is aiming for the AFC crown. While much of the attention has been on Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen’s pursuit of dominance, the Ravens are quietly strengthening their roster, making them an even more formidable force in 2025.

The latest move? Securing one of the key players on their offense. Pro Bowl left tackle Ronnie Stanley will remain in Baltimore, agreeing to a three-year, $60 million deal with $44 million guaranteed, according to Dianna Russini of The Athletic.

The Ravens acted quickly to lock in their anchor on the offensive line, pulling the top available tackle off the free-agent market. Stanley, a former sixth-overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, has had a rocky path with the Ravens.

Stanley’s injury struggles
At his best, Stanley was an All-Pro pass protector, but injuries disrupted his career for several years. After signing a $112 million contract extension in 2020, he suffered a serious ankle injury just two days later. This setback limited him to just one game in 2021, 11 games in 2022, and 13 in 2023.

However, last season proved that Stanley can still be one of the league’s top left tackles. His blocking was instrumental in Baltimore leading the NFL in both net yards per pass attempt and rushing yards per attempt.

With Stanley healthy and back in action, Lamar Jackson’s blindside is as protected as ever—bad news for AFC rivals looking to exploit any vulnerabilities in the Ravens’ offensive line.

Fewer options on the market
Stanley’s re-signing also shakes up the free-agent market. With the Ravens locking him in, teams in need of offensive line help will now be forced to consider second-tier alternatives.
