MEMPHIS TIGERS SUSPEND JARED HARRIS INDEFINITELY

The University of Memphis Athletic Department announced today that sophomore guard Jared Harris has been suspended indefinitely from the men’s basketball team.
According to a statement released by the university, Harris’s suspension is due to a violation of team rules and policies. The specific nature of the violation was not disclosed.
“We take these matters very seriously and hold our student-athletes to the highest standards of conduct and behavior,” said Head Coach Penny Hardaway. “Jared understands the expectations and responsibilities that come with being a member of this team, and we will continue to support him as he works to regain his eligibility.”
Harris, a 6’2″ guard from Silsbee, Texas, has been a key contributor to the Tigers’ success this season, averaging 8.5 points and 3.2 assists per game. His suspension is a significant blow to the team’s depth and scoring ability.
The Tigers are set to face off against the Cincinnati Bearcats on Saturday, and it remains to be seen how Harris’s suspension will impact the team’s performance.
