The New Mexico Lobos have confirmed that their remarkable regular season has come to an end, and while it’s not necessarily heartbreaking, it’s a

 

 

bittersweet moment for the team and its fans. The Lobos earned their fifth Mountain West regular season title and 10th overall, with a thrilling 71-67 win at Nevada ¹ ².

 

This achievement marks a significant milestone for the team, setting a school record with 16 conference wins in a season. The Lobos also clinched the No. 1 seed for the 2025 Mountain West Tournament and tied a school record for conference road wins in a season with seven ¹ ².

 

Donovan Dent led the Lobos with an impressive 33 points and seven assists, while Nelly Junior Joseph dominated the boards with 15 rebounds ¹ ².

 

While the end of the regular season may be heartbreaking for some, the Lobos have plenty to celebrate and look forward to. Their next challenge is the Mountain West Tournament, where they’ll aim to continue their winning streak.

 

As Head Coach Richard Pitino put it, “To find a way to go get it on the road, and it’s a Quad 1 win on top of it, this was a great win. We showed amazing toughness at the end…” ¹ ².

 

The Lobos will conclude their regular season on Friday by hosting UNLV at The Pit.
