The Duke Blue Devils continued their strong 2024-25 college basketball campaign with another ACC win on Monday night, defeating the Wake Forest Demon Deacons 93-60 at Cameron Indoor Stadium. This game was likely the last home appearance for freshman sensation Cooper Flagg, who is projected to be the No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming NBA draft. Flagg delivered yet another stellar performance, showcasing his National Player of the Year potential. The 18-year-old standout posted 28 points, eight rebounds, seven assists, three blocks, and two steals in Duke’s 27th win of the season. After the dominant showing, Duke Basketball shared a bold four-word message about Flagg on social media.

“BEST PLAYER IN AMERICA,” the team wrote on X.
Flagg is one of the top contenders for this year’s National Player of the Year Award, alongside Auburn senior Johni Broome. The No. 1 overall recruit in the 2024-25 class is averaging 19.3 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game in his freshman season. In Monday night’s win over Wake Forest, Flagg led the charge for Duke, but several other Blue Devils also had standout performances. Kon Knueppel finished with the second-highest point total of 17, while Khaman Maluach grabbed a team-high 14 rebounds.
Flagg and the Blue Devils will close out their regular-season schedule with a highly-anticipated road matchup against the rival North Carolina Tar Heels on Saturday evening. In his first matchup against the Tar Heels, Flagg recorded 21 points, eight rebounds and seven assists.
