Buffalo Sabres to part-ways with 26-year-old talented player

The Buffalo Sabres are actively looking to trade defenseman, who is set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer, as reported by TFP’s David Pagnotta.

The 26-year-old carries a $3.1 million salary cap hit. Pagnotta reported on Saturday that the defenseman is available, with Sabres GM Kevyn Adams aiming to move him before the 3 p.m. ET trade deadline on Friday.

According to multiple sources, Pagnotta mentioned on The Hot Stove segment of SiriusXM NHL Network Radio on Saturday, ahead of the Stadium Series game between Columbus and Detroit, that the defenseman is open to a change of scenery and is eager to join a contender for a playoff push.

The Sabres have been in trade talks with several teams this season regarding various players, including Dylan Cozens, Bowen Byram, and Jason Zucker.

Jokiharju, who has been a healthy scratch several times this season, has recorded four goals and four assists, totaling eight points in 42 games. He was also scratched from Saturday’s game.
