Official: Atlanta Braves part ways with two gifted players

Braves start trimming the roster before the calendar even flips to March.

The Atlanta Braves made their first round of Spring Training cuts  wasting no time trimming the roster.

Hurston Waldrep and Dylan Dodd are key names, as both pitched in major league games last season and appeared to have a chance at securing a spot in the back end of the rotation. However, the Braves had other plans, optioning both players before March. They are expected to start the season in Gwinnett’s rotation, and depending on their performance, they could potentially make their way to Atlanta in 2025.
