Oregon State Beavers receive bad news that has OSU fans unhappy

Oregon State is looking for a new assistant football coach after offensive line coach is set to join the NFL’s Chicago Bears. According to a report from 247Sports’ Matt Zenitz, the Bears are likely to hire DeVan, a former OSU offensive lineman, who became part of the Beavers’ coaching staff in December 2023.

He is likely to become an assistant offensive line coach, as the Bears hired Dan Roushar as their offensive line coach earlier in February.

With 18 days remaining before the start of the spring practice, the Beavers have openings for a receivers and offensive line coach. Assistant coaches remaining from Oregon State’s 2024 staff are Ryan Gunderson (offensive coordinator), Jamie Christian (special teams), Rod Chance (secondary), AJ Cooper (moves to secondary) and Ilaisa Tuiaki (defensive line).

DeVan played offensive line for Oregon State from 2003-07, earning first-team all-Pac-10 honors in 2006. DeVan followed with a five-year NFL career.
