Massive Boost: St louis Cardinals Strike Again, Finalize Deal For Top Decorated Player

Despite being incredibly quiet this summer, the St. Louis Cardinals have finally made a move.

The Cardinals have been the subject of trade rumors throughout the summer, and they did eventually finalize a deal, though it wasn’t what many had anticipated. Despite being a part of the team during the summer, star infielder Nolan Arenado has been the subject of trade rumors.

However, MLB.com’s John Denton reports that the Cardinals did make a trade, acquiring utility player.

Cardinals trade for Michael Helman - Viva El Birdos

“Working to add depth to an infield that could soon be without 10-time Gold Glove winner Nolan Arenado, the Cardinals dealt for third baseman/outfielder Michael Helman from the Twins on Thursday,” Denton said. “The Cardinals sent back cash considerations for Helman, who had three hits in 10 at-bats over nine games with the Twins in 2024. It is the first money-spent acquisition of the offseason for the Cardinals, who uncharacteristically have yet to sign a free agent.”

At the age of 28, Helman is capable of playing wherever on the pitch. He has played first base, second base, shortstop, third base, left field, center field, and right field during his professional career thus far. Despite his youth, he made his major league debut with the Minnesota Twins in 2024. Helman played in nine major league games and recorded three base hits in ten at-bats.

Even if he isn’t a well-known addition, he ought to give the company more depth.
