Massive boost: Texas A&M Strikes Again, Another Highly Rated Super Talent Transfer To Aggies

On3’s Pete Nakos was the first to report the gifted player is set to join the Aggies. This follows news from January 17, when it was revealed that he intended to enter the transfer portal.

He spent one season with the Longhorns after transferring from Alabama last offseason. During the 2024 season, he appeared in nine games, recording five receptions for 33 yards but no touchdowns. His standout performance came in Texas’ win over Vanderbilt in late October, where he caught two passes for 22 yards.

As a former highly-rated recruit from Florida, Niblack was expected to play a significant role in Texas’s offense for 2024. However, the emergence of senior tight end Gunnar Helm and the contributions of another senior, Juan Davis, limited Niblack’s playing time and opportunities in the offense this past season.

Before transferring to Texas in 2024, Niblack was a key contributor to Alabama’s offense in 2023. He played in 24 games over the 2022 and 2023 seasons, totaling 21 receptions for 342 yards and five touchdowns. His best year came in 2023, when he helped Alabama win the SEC Championship, recording 20 catches for 327 yards and four touchdowns.

With Texas losing three veteran tight ends due to eligibility expiration and transfers—including Helm, Davis, and Niblack—there are plans to target an experienced tight end from the NCAA Transfer Portal this offseason. This move would add proven depth to head coach Steve Sarkisian’s offense as the Longhorns prepare for the 2025 season.
