GOOD NEWS: Texas A&M coach Mike Elko reportedly Add Another 5-star Top-notch to 2026 recruiting class

Texas A&M’s 2026 recruiting class is taking shape this offseason under coach Mike Elko, as his staff has hosted a number of talented 2026 and 2027 prospects. Among them are the No. 1-ranked recruit in the 2026 class, five-star offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell, and five-star OT Immanuel Ihenacho.

In addition to hosting Penn State transfer wide receiver Harrison Wallace this weekend, Elko is expecting a visit from 2026 four-star edge Jamarion Carlton, who had originally planned to visit Florida State but altered his plans at the last minute.

So far, four-star Jordan Carter is the only edge commitment for the Aggies, and while rival Texas is favored to land Carlton, this weekend’s visit means Texas A&M is now officially in the race.

Carlton, who is entering his senior year at Temple (TX) High School, is coming off his best season yet, recording 57 tackles, 5 sacks, 11 tackles for loss, and a forced fumble.

At 6-5 and nearly 240 pounds, Carlton has the potential to excel as an edge rusher or shift inside to defensive tackle at the next level.

Currently, Carlton is ranked as the 53rd overall prospect in the 2026 class, the 5th-best defensive lineman, and the 8th-best prospect in Texas, according to 247Sports.
