Ole Miss received a significant boost to its secondary depth for the 2025 season with the commitment of Washington State transfer defensive back.
Standing 6 feet tall and weighing 184 pounds, the talented player comes to Oxford after two strong seasons with the Cougars’ secondary in Pullman, Washington. Originally from Pukalani, Hawaii, Gushiken will be adjusting to life in a new environment when he joins Ole Miss and the SEC for the 2025 season.
He shared on social media that he would soon be heading to Oxford, captioning his post with the phrase “Committed to the SIP” and including the HottyToddy hashtag, indicating he’s familiar with Ole Miss traditions. The post also featured a photo of Gushiken wearing a Rebels jersey, a preview of what he’ll officially be sporting later this year.
Gushiken recorded 88 total tackles, 5 tackles-for-loss, and 3 interceptions over his two years at Washington State.
The senior from Maui has had a unique football journey, starting at Kamehameha High School before moving on to Saddleback Junior College in Southern California. After that, he transferred to Washington State for the last two seasons and is now headed to Oxford and the SEC to complete his eventful path.
