Massive blow: Another 5-star Alabama top-notch player decommits from program

As first reported by On3  another five-star offensive lineman has officially decommitted from Alabama.

The 6-foot-5, 285-pound native of Denton, Texas, had been committed to Alabama since July. However, his increased interest in Michigan and other schools over the past couple of months made it clear that he was unlikely to end up in Tuscaloosa. This became more evident when he chose not to sign with Alabama during the early signing period in December, opting to take his recruitment into the traditional February signing day.

Haywood’s next move is an official visit to Michigan this upcoming weekend. This presents a key opportunity for Michigan’s coaching staff, including Sherrone Moore and Grant Newsome, to solidify their position and persuade Haywood that Ann Arbor is the right place for him.

If Haywood ultimately commits and signs with Michigan, he will become the second five-star offensive lineman and third five-star prospect overall in the Wolverines’ 2025 class, joining Andrew Babalola (offensive line) and Bryce Underwood (quarterback).

In addition to Michigan, the No. 20 overall player and No. 4 offensive tackle in the class is also considering Texas Tech and Florida State.

We will provide further updates on Haywood’s recruitment as more information becomes available.
