Class of 2025 quarterback announced on social media that he received an offer from Ohio State football on his first day back at school after winter break.
Baker, a 6-foot-2, 220-pound quarterback, finished 2024 with a state championship at St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and now begins 2025 with an offer from the Buckeyes. While still early in his high school career, he’s already drawing interest from several top programs around the country.
oAlthough Baker hasn’t had the chance to visit Ohio State yet, he expressed interest in making the trip in 2025. “I’d love to get up there and see the stadium and everything, I’ve always heard it’s a beautiful place,” he said.
In addition to Ohio State, Baker has received offers from schools across the southern U.S., as well as Big Ten programs like Indiana, Maryland, and Illinois. He sees his size, arm strength, and field-reading ability as some of his top strengths, emphasizing his leadership skills, which helped lead his team to a state championship.
Baker is aware there’s room for improvement, particularly in his throwing mechanics, footwork, and on-the-run throws. He also focuses on pocket movement, recognizing that while perfection isn’t possible, there’s always room for improvement.
On film, Baker displays a combination of soft touch and confident strength in his throws, along with a strong pocket presence, which has caught the attention of programs like Ohio State.
His motivation to improve stems from his passion for the game, which he sees as the key to his success. “Being able to experience football with the kids that I’ve been with for two years and for two more years and seeing them, and me, go to college and perform, that’s what excites me the most,” Baker said.
Baker also made it clear that he’s ready to make an impact at Ohio State. “I would be that guy for Ohio State,” he said. “I am that guy. I think we can go be great.”
