SAD NEWS: All our Efforts Has Failed!! He will not make it up to playoff..Penn state and James Franklin Cried out.

Abdul Carter left Penn State’s quarterfinal victory with a left arm/shoulder injury and did not return, prompting concerns about whether the star defensive end would be ready for this week’s game. As the Nittany Lions prepare for the Orange Bowl semifinal against Notre Dame, head coach James Franklin suggested that questioning Carter’s availability might be the wrong focus.

“It will depend on how he feels and how much practice he can participate in during the week,” Franklin said to reporters.

“At this point, there’s nothing preventing him from playing, but it will come down to how well he can perform.”

“We’ll see. His mentality is excellent, and he’s excited for this week. But it’s still too early to determine.”

Franklin tends to keep injury details private before games, but his remarks seemed to suggest that nothing is currently stopping Carter from playing in Thursday’s playoff game.

Where things stand with Penn State star edge rusher Abdul Carter after he sustained an injury last time out.

The bigger concern, however, may be how effective Carter will be following the injury, a question that remains unanswered before the game.

Carter’s presence on the defensive line has been crucial to Penn State’s success, contributing to one of the most formidable defensive fronts and run defenses in college football this season.

This defense will face a tough challenge from Notre Dame’s confident offense, which boasts the 11th-ranked rushing attack, averaging 218 yards per game, and ranks fourth with 42 rushing touchdowns.

The Fighting Irish backfield features quarterback Riley Leonard, who has 831 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns, averaging over 5 yards per carry.

However, Notre Dame’s passing game ranks just 108th in FBS, averaging under 189 yards per game, and Leonard struggles with just 4 yards per attempt when pressured.

Carter’s absence in the quarterfinals affected Penn State’s ability to pressure Boise State quarterback Maddux Madsen.

A projected Top 10 pick in the upcoming NFL Draft, Carter has been the Nittany Lions’ most influential player on defense, posting 22 tackles for loss and 11 sacks after switching from linebacker to defensive end.

If Carter is unable to play at full capacity, Penn State still has reliable alternatives in Dani Dennis-Sutton and Amin Vanover to step up on the edge.
