Massive Hit: Texas A&M Faces More Departures as Another Key Player Enters Transfer Portal, Joining 19 Others

Since their season ended with a disappointing loss to USC in the Las Vegas Bowl, the Texas A&M Aggies have seen two more players join a growing list of 19 others who entered the transfer portal.

Donovan Green - Football - Texas A&M Athletics - 12thMan.com The latest departures are sophomore tight end Donovan Green and leading receiver Noah Thomas from this past season.

Both players are now drawing interest from other SEC teams in the transfer portal. Thomas recently visited Georgia, a team that, like Texas A&M, struggled to get consistent production from its receivers this season.

According to ON3’s Pete Nakos, Green has scheduled a visit to LSU this upcoming weekend, with plans to spend Friday and Saturday in Baton Rouge.

Green, a former four-star recruit from Dickinson, Texas, received offers from top programs such as Alabama, Georgia, Oregon, Ohio State, and LSU. Despite these options, he chose to sign with Texas A&M.

Although Green was highly regarded coming out of high school, he struggled to find his stride at College Station. As a freshman, he appeared in 10 games, recording 233 yards and two touchdowns on 22 receptions.

However, what started as a promising 2022 season turned out to be the peak of Green’s time with the Aggies. After missing the entire 2023 season due to a torn ACL, Green made just eight appearances this past season without registering a reception.

Now, as Green prepares to visit LSU, the Tigers emerge as early contenders to sign the tight end they initially missed out on during his recruitment out of high school.
