Massive boost: Kansas State land commitment for another top-notch gifted player to bolster depth

Kansas State football (9-4, 5-4 Big 12) not only capped off its season with a thrilling 44-41 win over Rutgers in the Rate Bowl, but it’s also making waves in the transfer portal. The Wildcats kept the momentum going on Tuesday by securing top talented player according to On3.

The 6-foot-4, 239-pound player was a true freshman this past season, seeing limited action in the game against Mercer on November 16. Although he nearly chose Kansas State out of high school, he ultimately committed to the Crimson Tide after receiving a visit from Nick Saban.

The Kansas City native opened up during that time about his love for the Wildcats, via 247 Sports’ Cole Carmody.

“K-State just has the root to the story,” Ross said. “Always been there for me and has done tremendous things for me. Great program, great coaches, lots of opportunities with the great talents through there, and thank you to them. Nothing but grateful.”

Ross was a unanimous four-star recruit out of Liberty North High School after recording 15 sacks in 13 games his senior year. However, an injury forced him to miss the beginning of the season with Alabama and made it difficult to work up the depth chart.
