Jeremiyah Love Injury

On the first play of Notre Dame’s third offensive drive in the second half, quarterback Riley Leonard ran the ball for a six-yard gain, but Love got tangled in the pile and had to limp off the field.

Love had been caught between multiple defenders while trying to block for Leonard. Backup Jadairan Price replaced him as Love went to the injury tent.

After being evaluated, Love was seen with a brace on his right knee and pedaling a stationary bike on the sideline.

At the time of his exit, Love had six carries for 19 yards and one reception for two yards. He had previously sustained a knee injury against USC in the regular-season finale and reportedly played through it against Indiana.

ESPN’s Molly McGrath reported from the sidelines that Love “tried cutting side to side, and he was visibly uncomfortable. They put a hard brace on his right knee, and while it’s clear he’s still in pain, he’s doing everything he can to return. He said he doesn’t need to be 100% to be effective.”

With under eight minutes left and Notre Dame up 23-10, it seems unlikely that Love will return to the field unless Georgia closes the gap.
