Oregon Ducks defensive lineman Derrick Harmon has officially announced his decision to enter the 2025 NFL Draft. After playing four seasons of college football—three with Michigan State before transferring to Oregon—Harmon has opted to forgo his remaining year of eligibility to pursue a professional career.
Harmon joins Oregon teammates wide receiver Tez Johnson and running back Jordan James in declaring for the draft. He made his announcement via social media, starting by expressing gratitude to his family.
“Thank you to my parents and family for all your support and love throughout this journey! None of this would be possible without you!” Harmon wrote.
He also extended his thanks to Ducks head coach Dan Lanning and the Oregon fan base.
“I want to thank Coach Lanning for believing in me and bringing me to Oregon. I also want to thank the fans for all their support this season. You made Autzen Stadium a place I’ll never forget.”
Lanning brought Harmon from Michigan State to strengthen Oregon’s defensive line as the team prepared for Big Ten competition, and Harmon made a significant contribution in his lone season with the Ducks. He recorded five sacks and five forced fumbles.
In closing, Harmon expressed appreciation for his teammates.
“To the guys, the bonds we’ve created go beyond the locker room,” Harmon said. “I will always consider you my brothers. This is more than just football.”
As an NFL Draft prospect, Harmon gained attention during his final season at Oregon. While some mock drafts project him as a potential first-round pick, many expect him to be selected in the second or third round.
