Tony Elliott and the Virginia Cavaliers quickly resumed their activity in the transfer portal, with gifted player committing to the ‘Hoos, according to Matt Zenitz of 247 Sports.
The 6-foot-4, 318-pound player started 33 games over his four seasons with the Dukes but did not play in 2024 after sustaining an injury late in the 2023 season. Despite this setback, he was named a preseason second-team All-Sun Belt selection for 2024 in August.
He played a key role in JMU’s passing attack in 2023, helping the Dukes finish the year ranked first in the Sun Belt in yards per passing attempt, passing touchdowns, and passing efficiency. In JMU’s victory over UVA, Wyatt earned a solid 70.6 pass-blocking grade from PFF, eventually finishing the season with a 72.0 grade in that category.
Offensive line reinforcements were a top priority for Tony Elliott and the Cavaliers after securing key commitments at quarterback and receiver before the holidays. Wyatt brings much-needed experience to the Virginia offensive line, which will be crucial for revitalizing Des Kitchings’ passing game in 2025. He joins former UAB lineman Brady Wilson as the second offensive lineman to commit to UVA through the transfer portal, and the 12th overall addition this off-season.
The Richmond native chose Virginia over Missouri, Indiana, and Houston and has one year of eligibility remaining.
Stay tuned to STL for continued updates as the ‘Hoos keep adding talent through the portal!
