Evan Stewart, a star wide receiver for the Oregon Ducks, missed the Rose Bowl against Ohio State on January 1, 2025. Head coach Dan Lanning confirmed that Stewart suffered an injury during warm-ups, which sidelined him from the game.
After transferring from Texas A&M in January 2024, Stewart became a key part of Oregon’s offense. Leading up to the Rose Bowl, he had recorded 48 catches for 613 yards and five touchdowns.
Oregon struggled in the first half of the Rose Bowl, falling behind 34-0, with Stewart’s absence as a key playmaker contributing to the team’s difficulties.
Post-game, Stewart shared that he had been dealing with a lower back injury since the Big Ten Championship. Despite trying to play through the pain, he couldn’t take the field for the Rose Bowl.
Currently, there is no update on his recovery or status for the next season. Fans and team officials are closely watching his progress as they await news on his return.
