Penn State had to wait an additional day to find out its opponent for the College Football Playoff semifinals, but now the Nittany Lions know who they’ll face.
Notre Dame triumphed over Georgia 23-10 in the Sugar Bowl on Thursday night, earning the Fighting Irish a spot to play Penn State in the Orange Bowl.
The game will take place on January 9 at 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN, with the winner advancing to the national championship.
The two teams haven’t met since 2007, when Penn State won 31-10 at home.
