Massive boost: Washington Huskies to land blockbuster commitment for Arizona standout player

After a narrow 35-34 defeat to Louisville in the Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl on New Year’s Eve, Jedd Fisch and the Washington Huskies are eager to kick off 2025 with a bang. Securing a commitment from the top cornerback in the transfer portal would certainly make a strong statement.

Fisch’s staff received a crystal ball prediction from 247Sports’ Greg Biggins, signaling the potential commitment of Arizona standout

The 6-foot-4, 190-pound cornerback, ranked No. 13 overall in the transfer portal, plans to visit Seattle over the weekend. Davis was recruited and developed by Washington’s cornerbacks coach John Richardson during their two years together at Arizona.

Davis earned a spot on the Second Team All-Big 12 in 2024 and had an impressive run with Richardson. In 2023, he was an All-Pac-12 honorable mention and ranked third nationally with 16 pass breakups.

Davis is weighing his options for his final year of eligibility versus entering the NFL draft, where he’s projected to be a top-two round pick if he declares. However, Fisch’s staff is likely making a strong pitch to him.

With Ryan Walters set to become the defensive coordinator, Davis would be an excellent fit for his defensive strategy. Walters, the former Purdue head coach and Illinois defensive coordinator, is known for utilizing cornerbacks in single coverage, a system where Davis’ length and aggressive play style would thrive.
