JUST IN: Texas A&M coach Mike Elko Land World class QB In Addition to Already Signed Top-notchs in His efforts to Trend things up for 2025

Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko’s first season concluded with a disappointing 8-5 record, capped by a heartbreaking 35-31 loss to USC in the Las Vegas Bowl. The Aggies had hoped to enter the offseason with positive momentum, but the loss in the final seconds dashed those hopes.

Although A&M’s 1-4 finish is concerning, Elko and his coaching staff have made a strong push in the transfer portal over the past month, bringing in key talent, including three wide receivers, such as former NC State standout KC Concepcion.

While bolstering the offense was essential, the loss of defensive linemen Nic Scourton, Shemar Stewart, and Shemar Turner has left a gap in the defensive front. To address this, Elko has added three edge rushers, including former Florida defensive end T.J. Searcy. However, additional reinforcement is needed in the interior, as well as another cornerback and safety for the secondary.

This week, former Washington State defensive lineman David Gusta joined the program, and former Tennessee defensive back Christian Harrison is set to visit the Aggies from Thursday to Friday. Harrison, who played the STAR position in Tennessee’s 4-3 defense—a hybrid safety role—finished his redshirt sophomore year with the Volunteers. Known for his speed and coverage skills, he became a reliable third-down defender in the slot.

In the 2024 season, Harrison registered 20 tackles, half a sack, and a pass deflection, earning a 66.2 defensive grade and a 62 coverage grade from Pro Football Focus.
